Futuristic Redesign of US Currency

Futuristic Redesign of US Currency
Travis Purrington, a graphic designer from Switzerland, decided to redesign the US currency. Though the task sounded daunting at first, he managed to come up with a beautiful concept for money that has a much more modern look.
Rather than using notable people from history, in Purrington’s vision the money offers a glimpse into the future. With subtle imagery and sleek patterns, they picture astronauts, curling waves, ice-capped mountains, and distant galaxies. In other words, the designer turned the currency into a symbol of possibility.
Design-wise, the money looks very appealing. Warm colours and slightly faded illustrations give them a trendy appearance. The typography is exceptional as well – thanks to sans serif font and high contrast between the numbers and letters and their backgrounds, the denominations are very easy to read.
Additionally, there are elements from the existing bank notes as well as key phrases from the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the national anthem.
