Would you ever drive home a complete stranger just to make sure he or she doesn’t put any lives at risk behind the wheel while intoxicated? Most people probably wouldn’t, but in honor of his friend’s death, one guy did.
Unfortunately, a while back, one of this guy’s friends was killed. His name was Vince Cazani, and a man named Matthew Cordle hit him while drinking and driving.
In honor of his death, this friend decided to drive drunk strangers home to make sure everyone got there safely. Any money received or left behind went to Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Vince’s memory.
He then started a campaign called Because I Said I Would that urges others to make the world a better place by keeping their promises.
Check out how his night went below!

“I went to the busiest bar in my neighborhood, stood outside and offered free rides to anyone who had been drinking.”

1

“The first group I picked up was a bachelorette party. I let them play their own music. No joke, they played ‘Call Me Maybe’ twice in a row and not on accident.”

2

“Bobbi, the girl in the passenger seat is sneaky, though, and left behind $38. This will be donated to Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Vince’s memory.”

3

“The next couple I picked up just became homeowners. Getting a DUI can be financially devastating. Good decision guys!”

4

“One guy I picked up claimed that he helped create the ‘We are the World’ remake music video that benefited Haiti in 2010.”

5

“The ‘We are the world’ guy also wanted to tip, but instead made the promise to donate $20 to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. Legit.”

6

“I drove people around for about 4 hours. No one puked in my car so I consider that a win. “

7

“Please make the promise to never drink and drive. Rest in Peace Vince Canzani.”

8

“‘Because I said I would’ is a social movement and nonprofit dedicated to the betterment of humanity through promises made and kept.”
