- 3/11 - and not surprised. To all the critics commenting on this article, can I point this out: Modern art is not the same as Contemporary art. But the word “modern” has a standard English definition, and so the phrase “modern art” has a meaning in common language use, that may not be the same as the jargon use. And in that sense, it is quite accurate.

- got most of them right. but its a funny exercise to state that all “modern” art is simply stupid and retard and intendend only for “snobs” that think its cool to be a part of a small niche that trully understand art. (wich they dont). “modern” Art is an ilusion created by those who make big money selling garbage. at the end of the day art is no different from buyin a can of beens at the local supermaket… at least the beens serve a real purpose…
- Although I do agree with the pretentiousness of the art world, modern art encompasses a wider spectrum than abstract expressionism - which is what these paintings are examples of. Abstract expressionism is about tapping into your base emotions and fears, and expressing it through color and brushstrokes on a canvas. Who better to do something like that than a toddler? I do think if one were able to view the above paintings in their true form versus a tightly cropped thumbnail, the difference between the two would be obvious.

- Well I only had # 7 wrong- I said it was artist and it is not- I was on the fence on this one as it actually looks like an artists pallet- This was a fun exercise-but not a commentary modern art— I am sure seeing these in actuality instead of a cropped section on a computer screen would make the difference between toddler and artist very obvious.

- All the examples were fun to look at; some were even well crafted. The sad thing about so much, so called modern art,is that it promotes so much arty fiction by those who try to justify adults using a painting style and in effect copying pictures painted spontaneously by children who with undeveloped craftsmaship are trying to create images in paint. The sad thing is that there are so many gullible people around that can be conned into accepting poorly crafted works as works of art. DonC
