What's red, blue and blowing up the Internet?
That's a font based on Hillary Clinton 's campaign logo, a chunky blue "H" with a bright red arrow pointing to the right embedded in its center. Since the former secretary of State formally declared her run for the 2016 presidency on April 12, critics and supporters alike can't stop chirping about the the similarities of Clinton's patriotic branding with other logos. (See WikiLeaks' tweet, or this photo of a hospital sign.)
However, it's now all about "Hillvetica."
According to Fonts in Use, Hillary Clinton's "main typeface is called Unity, a customization of Sharp Sans by Lucas Sharp." And now, designer Rick Wolff is making a splash for a font he's trying to create based on the chunky design.
Wolff released sketches of what the entire alphabet would look like with a similar font treatment on Twitter on April 13, which subsequently went viral. Because of the response, he's now raising money online through a GoFundMe page to buy a program that will allow him to create a free font based off the logo. As of 5:45 ET on April 14, he's raised $175 of the $350 goal.
The font has gotten so much attention that the Washington Post has created aninteractive generator that takes Wolff's sketches and lets users create words or phrases in the font.
So what is it about Hillary's font? How do the other politicians who have announced their candidacy compare? Check them out.
