As an alternative, you could have my situation where none of the BI videos will play at all. I get a black bar with the message "Module Error, Please check your internet connection" There is nothing wrong with my connection, I have the latest flash player, and have no problems with YouTube, Vimeo, and others. A lot of the video pieces are fluff, but there have been some that I really would have liked to play. I hate autoplay too, which is why I hate Huffington Post but I would take it at BI if I could see the videos.
